Vedala land vehicle. Eight-wheeled open planet rover with equipment designed to detect indurite. It was abandoned after the power boost gained by Em/3/Green's wiring change got it clear of a lava flow. It then hit a rock and was abandoned. (The Jihad. [TAS]).

Vedala. (Majel Barrett) The oldest known spacefaring race that had powerful time-transport facilities. A member of this feline species briefed the members of the mission to find the Soul of the Skorr. It could not accompany them because of the conditions on the mad planet which is geologically unstable. (The Jihad. [TAS]).

Vendor. This quarantined planet was the site of the crash of Carter Winston's ship in 2264. (The Survivor. [TAS]).

Vendorians. These sentient six-tentacle shape-shifting inhabitants of the planet Vendor had reputation for deceit. The Vendorian who tended Carter Winston was regarded as a non-producer and outcast within his race so he became a spy for the Romulans and while on the Enterprise impersonated Kirk, McCoy, Dr. Leonard H., an examination table and an engineer, and finally became the ships' deflectors having decided to protect the Enterprise crew including Lieutenant Anne Nored from the Romulans. The Vendorian was taken into custody to stand trial. (The Survivor. [TAS]).

Verdanis. Planet ten days journey from Cepheus where the miniature Terratin city was to be relocated. (The Terratin Incident. [TAS]).

villi. McCoy postulated that the antimatter projections on the inside of the cosmic being were similar to the villi on the inside wall of a small intestine. They exploded on contact with the devoured matter and then regenerated. (One of Our Planets Is Missing. [TAS]).

voder. Phylosian translation device worn round the neck. (The Infinite Vulcan. [TAS]).

Vulcan marriage drum. The probe caused Spock to have a vision of this ritual Vulcan instrument. (The Lorelei Signal. [TAS]).

Vulcan mind-meld.* In order not destroy the cosmic being, Spock established a link to it via the ships computer, universal translator and the sensors. (One of Our Planets Is Missing. [TAS]). Spock Two restored Spock using this technique. (The Infinite Vulcan. [TAS]). Called mind touch in the dialogues.

Vulcan nerve pinch.* Used by Selek to disable the le-matya and to ease I-Chaya's dying pain. He taught the technique to the young Spock. (Yesteryear. [TAS]). Selek, being the name adopted by Spock when he visited Vulcan's past, means he taught himself the technique! Actually called the neck pinch in the episode.

Vulcan's Forge.* Name of the Vulcan desert where the young Spock undertook his kahs-wan. (Yesteryear. [TAS]).

Vulcans.* There was a Vulcan on the Elysian Ruling Council. (The Time Trap. [TAS]). chloriocytosis could be fatal to Vulcans. It had a delayed effect on them. Strobolin is the only known cure but a synthesised drug can delay the effects of the disease. (The Pirates of Orion. [TAS]). Vulcans are immune from the Dramian auroral plague. (Albatross. [TAS]).
