Pandro. Planet in the Garo VII system. Homeworld of Ari bn Bem. (Bem. [TAS]).

Pandronians. A recently contacted race with advanced medical knowledge with which the Federation was eager to open diplomatic relations. They were a non-violent race, being "colony creatures" whose bodies split into three pieces allowing them to negotiate difficult places. Failure in Pandronian society demanded that bodies should "dissociate", presumably a form of ritual suicide. (Bem. [TAS]).

phaser bore. Kirk called for one of these to be beamed down to bore through the shielding under the surface of the amusement park planet. This could cut through 20 metres of rock per minute. The planet's amusement park computer foiled the attempt. (Once Upon a Planet. [TAS]).

phaser rifle.* SEE: phaser type-2.

phaser type-1.* Actually used by landing party, set to lightest possible stun setting, when locating Commander Bem. (Bem. [TAS]).

phaser type-2.* Phaser rifles were ordered by Scott for the landing party to locate Kirk and Spock. (Bem. [TAS]) In the Original Series the phaser rifle was only seen in Where No Man Has Gone Before [TOS].

photon torpedo. * Initially proposed to destroy the cosmic being but then calculated to be inadequate. (One of Our Planets Is Missing. [TAS]).

Phylosian ship. A fleet of these ships had been prepared to force peace on the Kzinti. (The Infinite Vulcan. [TAS]).

Phylosians. Sentient race of botanical origin with three legs and six two fingered arms. They had peaceful motives. Before the plague brought by Dr. Stavos Keniclius they were a giant race using the very high 70% of their brain capacity and living underground where the previous generation was enshrined. (The Infinite Vulcan. [TAS]). There was a Phylosian on the Elysian Ruling Council. (The Time Trap. [TAS]).

Phylos. A recently discovered planet on the edge of the galaxy with an advanced metropolis that was explored by a landing party from the Enterprise. Absence of any staphylococcus bacteria had made the inhabitants vulnerable to the bacteria brought by Dr. Stavos Keniclius. (The Infinite Vulcan. [TAS]).

"Pirates of Orion, The" Animated Series episode #20. Written by Howard Weinstein. Directed by Hal Sutherland. Stardate 6334.1. First aired in 1974. Spock contracts a disease that is fatal to Vulcans, and Orion pirates make it difficult for the Enterprise to rendezvous with the S.S. Huron, a freighter that is carrying the only known antidote. Pod ship commander. (James Doohan) Flower-like plant being that left a recorded message about the danger of the malignant alien and explained the reason for the destruction of its ship. (Beyond the Farthest Star. [TAS]).

Pod ship. Warp capable starship, source of secondary radio emissions, otherwise dead and at a temperature of absolute zero. Made 300 million years before of an unknown alloy, harder and lighter than any registered metal, which had been drawn and spun. The crew had disabled the ship by bursting all the pods outwards. The bridge area had air and artificial gravity "within two points of normal" according to Spock. It was destroyed by the malignant alien using the Enterprise's phaser banks. (Beyond the Farthest Star. [TAS]).

police web. Portable Kzinti grid for restraining prisoners. It was turned off by the energy absorbing setting on the Slaver weapon allowing the Spock, Sulu and Uhura to temporarily escape. (The Slaver Weapon. [TAS]).

Potemkin, U.S.S..* Picked up the strobolin from Beta Canopus for onward delivery to the Enterprise via the Huron. (The Pirates of Orion. [TAS]).

"Practical Joker, The" Animated Series episode #21. Written by Chuck Menville. Directed by Hal Sutherland. Stardate 3183.3. First aired in 1974. While trying to escape from three Romulan battle cruisers, the U.S.S. Enterprise passes through a gaseous cloud that affects the Enterprise's computer and turns it into a dangerous practical joker.
